Our Team

We are fortunate at Snell and Aurelio Dental Surgeons to have caring and friendly team.

Dr Chris Snell

Chris obtained his degree in Dentistry with an Honours in Prosthetics in 1983 from the University of Melbourne. From 1984 he worked in a variety of practices in Mont Albert, Moreland and at 71 Yarra Street before opening his own practice in Keilor Downs in November 1985. In 1989 he returned to 71 Yarra Street to work part-time with his father and maintained the Keilor Downs practice until 2000, when Geoff Snell retired. At this point, having gained valuable experience from a number of different practices he took over his father’s practice full time.

Chris enjoys the breadth of issues general practice brings in working with people of all ages.  He has served on the Practice Administration Committee and Social Committee of the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch.  He has also performed volunteer work in East Timor on a number of occasions including teaching at the University of Dili.

In his personal life Chris enjoys a number of outdoor activities including hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and car rallying.

Dr Rob Aurelio

Rob graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2001 with First Class Honours and was the dux of both 4th and 5th years. He won several awards including The John Iliffe Scholarship, the ADA Victoria Branch prize and Rowden White prize for the highest aggregate, the Gladys and George Campbell scholarship for the highest marks in dental studies, the Tuckfield and Shepherd Prize for the highest marks in dental prosthetics and the winner of the Ernest Joske Memorial Prize for ‘the best all round student in the final year of the course’. Rob was fortunate enough to commence working that year at this practice, and in 2006 became as associate with Chris following the retirement of Dr. Kim Coillet.

Rob has always tried to follow the ethos of the practice which is to treat people with kindness and care, as if they were a close relative. He enjoys all aspects of general and specialised areas of dentistry and regularly attends continuing education courses to keep abreast of all new innovations.

Rob is a very keen fisherman, he enjoys camping and hiking, a football tragic being an avid supporter of the Essendon Football Club, and enjoys tinkering in the shed.

Dr Theja Surapaneni

Theja completed his dental training at La Trobe University, having the wonderful opportunity to work in various public dental clinics around regional Victoria.

Theja's philosophy for dentistry is oriented towards minimal invasiveness and prevention, whilst building trust and rapport with his patients. He is particularly interested in restorative and family dentistry. Theja is also dedicated to upskilling through a broad range of continuing professional development courses.

Outside of dentistry, Theja loves all things cricket and is a passionate Western Bulldogs fan. Theja also enjoys tennis, general fitness, and trivia nights.
