OTHERWISE KNOWN AS 'ENDODONTICS'
Inside the hard layers of the tooth is the pulp, which is a soft tissue that contains blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. Root canal treatment refers to the removal of infection or painful pulp tissue, cleaning and disinfecting of the pulp chamber and filling up the space with an inert filling to minimise the chance of reinfection. Root canal treatment may be indicated due to large cavities, trauma to tooth, gum infections, and/or heavy bites.
We will discuss the benefits and risks of root canal treatment should it be relevant to you and your dentition.
